ABOUT

V Á K U U M is a personal project that represents my journey of self-discovery through the medium of art, a persona and a state of mind at the same time.

The name itself holds significant meaning as it reflects the space where I find inner peace and clarity by removing all the noise and worries of the outside world. My art is an expression of my persona and my own perception of nature, feelings, and senses of my everyday life. Even though I’ve always been an extrovert, I only recently learned to listen to my inner self and bring out my feelings on canvas. To the outside observer, the message is sometimes quite clear, while oftentimes inner imbalances are reflected through somewhat organized abstract chaos. I never saw myself as an artist and still have a long way to go to call myself one.

Coming from a scientific background it was just not something that I really got to understand. But life has its way of guiding you in direction of how you perceive your surroundings in the most unexpected ways and that what V Á K U U M essentially embodies - an enigma that is very much present in everyone, if only we are willing to focus.

PHYSICAL

My physical art is a combination of acrylic drip and splatter techniques that create a unique and captivating base for each piece. I then layer on additional minimalistic elements to add depth and detail, with the intention of drawing the viewer's attention and sparking their imagination.

What draws me to abstract art is the intriguing fact that no two individuals will perceive the artwork in the same way. The contrasting emotions that are evoked in each viewer make it an incredibly satisfying and unique experience. Abstract art often challenges the brain and introduces a sense of confusion, as viewers are forced to reconcile competing senses of what is presented before them.

I am thrilled to showcase a set of 6x4 and 20x20cm physical art pieces that represent my approach to abstract art. Each piece is a one-of-a-kind creation that invites viewers to explore their own emotions and interpretations. Through this showcase, I hope to inspire others to appreciate the beauty and complexity of abstract art and to find their own unique perspectives.

DIGITAL

As an artist, I have always been drawn to physical art pieces, but I wanted to push myself out of my comfort zone and explore new forms of expression. This led me to create a series of digital mashups using computerized post-processing techniques. Through this process, I was able to create a different perspective of my initial ideas and invite viewers to explore the world of technology.

While some may view digital art as less authentic than physical art, I believe that it opens up new possibilities and challenges us to think outside the box. The process of working with a different medium allowed me to venture into the unknown and unlock new ideas that I never would have discovered otherwise.

I am excited to showcase a selection of these digital mashups, each measuring 6x4 or 20x20cm. Through these pieces, I hope to encourage others to experiment with different mediums and embrace the possibilities of technology in art.

AUDIOVISUAL

As I embarked on my second artistic release, I became fascinated with exploring the possibilities of digital media. I had an idea to capture the process of creating my paintings by combining physical macro shots with digital postprocessing techniques. The result is a stunning visual experience that showcases the intricate details and movement of the paint in a way that is simply breathtaking.

I was amazed by the technological capabilities that allowed me to zoom in and capture the fluid motion of the paint as it was applied to the canvas. This became a work of art in its own right, offering endless possibilities for experimentation and creative expression.

As I delved deeper into this approach, I began to add an audio layer to my work. By using the visual product to tell a story with music, and vice versa, I have created a space-like journey into the macro world of the art-making process. The result is a beautiful dance between visual and the accompanying musical art.

These are the main reasons why I share my latest addition to my portfolio in video form, as it offers a multi-dimensional experience that fully captures the essence of my artistic vision. Through this unique approach, I hope to inspire others to explore the intersection of technology and art and to push the boundaries of creative expression.
